My name is Iván M. Benítez, I’m a Lighting and compositing artist from Spain, currently based in Montreal, Canada.

I have worked in companies such as Sony Pictures Imageworks, Axis Studios, Jellyfish Pictures, Lightbox Animation Studios, some of the highlights on my filmography are «Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse» and the DreamWorks Animation feature film «Spirit: Untamed», I feel so thankful to have been part of these amazing projects.

I consider myself an ambitious, creativity-driven hard working person who is always eager to learn, seeking to get out of his comfort zone and reach new goals.

What I like most about my job is being able to move and create different feelings to the viewer through light and color. I really think light is one more character in a film, and it plays a very important role within the storytelling, that’s why I keep pushing and strenghtening my lighting and photography skills further everyday.

Mi nombre es Iván M. Benítez, soy un Lighter y compositor español, actualmente residiendo en Montreal, Canada.

He trabajado en estudios como Sony Pictures Imageworks, Axis Studios, Jellyfish Pictures, Lightbox Animation Studios, entre otros. Algunos de los proyectos más destacados en los que he tenido la suerte de participar son «Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse» y la película de DreamWorks Animation «Spirit: Untamed».

Me considero una persona ambiciosa, trabajadora y siempre ansiosa por aprender y seguir mejorando en todos los aspectos de mi vida, no sólo a nivel artístico/profesional.

Lo que más me gusta de lo que hago es ser capaz de emocionar y crear una serie de sentimientos al espectador a través de la luz y el color. Creo que la iluminación es un personaje más dentro de una película y realmente juega un papel muy importante dentro del storytelling, por eso me enfoco en aprender cada día un poco más sobre iluminación, color y fotografía.
